Asia’s first and only river-themed wildlife park! Wildlife Reserves Singapore is building another world-class animal park attraction. The River Safari, set to open in 2012, will take visitors on an up-close and multi-sensorial journey to the realm of the largest collection of freshwater flora and fauna in Asia.

Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) is the parent company of award-winning attractions Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari and Singapore Zoo. WRS parks strive to be world-class leisure attractions, providing excellent exhibits of animals and birds presented in their natural environment for the purpose of conservation, education and recreation.

Giant pandas at Mandai River Wonders

The pandas are symbolic of the close ties between Singapore and China. Kai Kai & Jia Jia arrived in Singapore on September 6, 2012.

A special climate controlled enclosure, the Giant Panda Forest, was constructed for Kai Kai and Jia Jia at the River Safari, with temperature maintained between 18 and 22 degrees, and humidity set at 50 to 60% all year round.

From September 19, 1990 until January 11, 1991 another WRS park, Singapore Zoo, had 2 giant pandas, An An & Xin Xing, on loan from China for 100 days.
