Canadian people soon will see a breeding pair of giant pandas move to their country. After many years of negotiations with Chinese officials, two giant pandas will move to Canada. Toronto Zoo, Calgary Zoo & Granby Zoo are the lucky zoos who will house them. It is still not sure when the pandas will arrive. The zoos have been talking about a later start date, but the Chinese government has been clear in indicating they would like this to begin in 2011. They will stay at Toronto Zoo for five years and later they will travel to Calgary & Granby. The deal was finalized on Friday during a meeting between Canadian Federal Environment Minister Jim Prentice, China’s State Forestry Administrator Jia Zhibang and Canadian Ambassador David Mulroney, among others.
