Giant panda Mei Xiang’s hormones peaked on April 26, 2015 around 5 a.m. For our reproductive scientists, that only meant one thing: time to make a panda cub! The window of opportunity lasts a mere 24 hours. Springing into action, they performed an artificial insemination.
