Shu Xiang & Qi Miao move to Panda Quarantaine Field
Shu Xiang & Qi Miao moved to the Panda Quarantine Field at the Chengdu Panda Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Both pandas will move to Macau in December 2010. On the 10th Anniversary of the Macau Government, Chinese president Hu Jintao declared he would send a pair of pandas to Macau. Shu Xiang (male) was born on August 4, 2008 and has studbook number 717. Qi Miao (female) was born on July 26, 2008. They lived together at the No. 2 House at the Chengdu Panda Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Now their new Five-star Home at Seac Pai Van Park in Macau is almost finished and both pandas are getting ready to move. In Macau they will receive new names: Hoi Hoi & Sam Sam.
