Edinburgh Zoo and Lothian Buses have linked up again to create another animal-themed bus on the service 26 route. Making it even easier to ‘Zoom to the Zoo’ to see the two giant pandas, the new design features the giant panda characters of Tian Tian (Sweetie) and Yang Guang (Sunshine).

The “meet the giants” wrapped bus joins the ranks of 10 other animal themed buses currently brightening up Edinburgh’s road. Existing designs include chimps, penguins, tigers, zebras and rainbow lorikeets.

Helen Arthurs, marketing manager at Edinburgh Zoo, commented: “The animal branded buses launched in 2009 with the aim of encouraging visitors to Edinburgh Zoo to consider more environmentally friendly methods of public transport. The Zoo receives regular positive feedback from Edinburgh residents and holiday makers who see the animal buses en-route around the city.”

Shaun Burnett, head of marketing and communications for Lothian Buses, said: “The special edition bus featuring the Edinburgh Zoo pandas is a colourful and eye-catching addition to our fleet, and will be welcomed on the Service 26 route which will take visitors straight to the zoo.

“The pandas are a huge attraction and visitors will be flocking from across the country to visit them, so we’re pleased to support and celebrate their arrival.”
