GovMint.com and the Smithsonian announce a first ever release of official commemorative silver and gold proofs featuring Bao Bao. Struck by the China Mint in 1oz Silver, 1oz Gold, and Tenth-Ounce Gold Proof sizes, they feature the image of Bao Bao among her beloved bamboo trees. An additional 5oz Gold Proof depicts Bao Bao in the embrace of her panda mother, Mei Xiang. The other side of all the proofs depict both the Great Wall of China and the iconic Smithsonian Castle in Washington. Each proof is struck in 99.9% fine silver or 99.9% pure gold, and each features a strict edition limit. These Bao Bao collectible silver and gold proofs are the latest in the highly-popular Smithsonian China Panda program which debuted in 2014.

“We are honored to once again partner with both the Smithsonian and the China Mint to release these world’s first collectible gold and silver proofs” said Bill Gale, founder of GovMint.com. “This represents an historic numismatic milestone, and these proofs will be great additions to our customers’ collections for years to come.”
