The Giant Panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) is a black and white bear native to central- and south-western China. There are about 1864 giant pandas left in the wild and the global captive population has reached 808 individuals in November 2025. China's national treasure, da xiong mao, is loved by so many people around the world.
