The “Giant Panda Channel” of CNTV will be based on China’s national treasure, the panda, providing live, on-demand shows as well as panda documentaries and pictures. It is the world’s only giant panda-themed network that is bilingual (English and Chinese) and integrates a variety of new media such as a website, community and social media. The channel will broadcast information about the biodiversity and ecological/environmental protection of China represented by giant panda. Giant pandas living in Chengdu Panda Base will frequently be shown on the programs, offering a wonderful visual feast for the audience at home and abroad. Through this widely used new media source, happiness and friendship will be delivered to people all around the world, promoting communications between Chinese and foreigners. Currently, both parties are busy with preparatory work to make all this happen, beginning with a pilot episode in June 2013.

Participators for the signing ceremony also included former head of CCTV Mr. Zhang Changming and Mrs. Zhang Yunhui, General Manager of Beijing Jinshanlongying Cultural Communication Co., Ltd.
