Giant Panda Zoo Awards 2012: The Winners
Panda fans and experts from around the world were invited by www.GiantPandaZoo.com in January 2013 to vote for their favorite pandas, people and zoos on the ‘Giant Panda Zoo Awards 2012’.
About 28.000 votes were received in the 10 categories and I am now proud to announce

After voting, you could fill in your name and e-mailadres. If you did this, you will receive the newsletter of www.GiantPandaZoo.com so you will stay informed about pandas. Everybody who entered his name and e-mailadres made a chance to win the 11th Award: ‘Lucky Panda Fan of The Year’.

Award 12: LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
The first ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ of the Giant Panda Zoo Award goes to Bao Bao. He was wildborn in 1978 and moved to Zoo Berlin in November 1980 as a Goodwill Gift from the Chinese Government to Germany. He was the last panda of this Generation when he died last Summer. For 32 years he has been an amazing ambassador for pandas and for China. Bao Bao was the oldest male giant panda in captive history.
The Giant Panda Zoo Awards 2012 were organised by www.GiantPandaZoo.com to raise awareness for giant panda conservation around the world.
